Hi! Is mise Rebecca.

Hi! My name is Rebecca and I am a mom of two, we have a dog, a cat and 5 hens and we live in Co.Wicklow also known as the Garden of Ireland. I grew up in the beautiful surroundings of west Kerry, just outside the picturesque town of Dingle on the south west coast of Ireland.

This website's name and my interest in quilting and fabric came from my mother who had her own shop called the Spinning Wheel in Wicklow.

My Mother had a great interest in crafts and fashion and was both independent and inspiring. She was entrepreneurial as well as hard working and I miss her every day. She passed away a number of years ago and I have her wooden spinning wheel from her shop, it now sits beside my sewing machine, her legacy still alive.

Although my initial interest in craft began at an early age, my personal interest in all craft began with sewing gifts for family members and baby quilts for friends who had recently had a new arrival. Soon my hobby became a passion. Quilts can grow with the baby from a decorative, to function to an item that can be used on magical make believe adventures.

Today I am passionate about creating not just quilts but a community of quilters. learning from each other building community and friendship all while doing what we love sewing.

We make beautiful handmade quilts and share other crafts, what we make might be handed down to the next generation. Quilts are heirlooms, often surviving more than one person's lifetime. Quilts carry part of the adventures they have experienced in its fabric, a quilt can be seen in family photos down through the years, they are a true family heirloom. Honouring and supporting makers in my passion, ensuring that the tangible skill and craft survives but not only that it is celebrated. lets celebrate all the quilts!

I made my first quilt for my daughter, it is so loved but it is holding together perfectly after multiple washes. Her quilt is a comfort when she is sick, a picnic blanket when she and her Teddy are adventuring and it has been a magical cape more times than I can count. Her quilt is very special to her.
